Former Nigeria U19 player, Mayowa Bello has promised Nigerians the team will not disappoint at the 13th African Games in Ghana this month.

Bello is one the former National U19 and U21 players who have been drafted into the National men’s senior team ahead of the African Games.

In a chat with www.aclsports.com, the former Offa VC player urged Nigerians to keep believing in the team.

Bello however believed the Super Eagles will put up a good showing when the volleyball event begins later this month.

He said, “I am very happy to make this team because it’s a big honour for me to play for my father’s land. All I want to say is that we are ready, we are ready for the task ahead, though it is not going to be easy because there are so many favourites at the African Games.

“If you look at the composition of the team, most of us have played together either at the African U19 Boys Nations Cup or at local tournaments in Nigeria. The last time Nigeria won any medal at the African Games was at the 2003 All African Games in Nigeria; we want to return back to the country with a medal”.

Bello said one of his dreams is to play professional volleyball in Europe.

He said, “I have played in Nigeria, Libya and Jordan. I strongly believe that soon, I am going to play in Europe”.
