Union Sportive Monastir (USM) dismantled Gombe Bulls 90-62 points at the ongoing FIBA Africa Champions Cup in Tunisia on Monday.

American Kyle Vinales scored a game high 23 points and 4 assists while Firas Lahiani added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Bechir Hadidane made 13 points and Nizar Knioua contributed a double-double scoring 11 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds to go with it for the Tunisians.

Bulls lost all four quarters and could only gave a fight in the first despite losing it (21-23). No Bulls player got to double figures till the last quarter of the game with just two recording 14 points and 5 rebounds each, Bulls captain Yakubu Sylvanus and Ibe Agu.

USM had three of their players on double figures while building a 15 point lead at the end of second quarter. The lead was however extended to 20 points making it a difficult task for the debutants.

The Nigerian representatives committed 20 turnovers, made 28.57% of their field goals and were out rebounded by the Tunisians (32-45).

Gombe Bulls will next play Ferroviario Beira of Mozambique while Nigeria’s other representatives will face Angola side, InterClube de Luanda on Tuesday.
