Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri on Sunday became the first African to win the ITTF Challenge Polish open.

Quadri defeated Japan’s Kaii Yoshida by 4-2 major points (11-7, 11-13 11-8, 6-11, 11-8, 14-12) in an electrifying final match.

Omotayo Olajide who crashed out earlier in the competition supported fellow country man on the bench as a coach.
In the semifinal, the Nigeria number one player beat  Kirill Gerassimenko of Kazakhstan’s 11-5, 8-11, 11-8, 11-6, 7-11 and 11-6.

Aruna Quadri is currently without a coach. The much travelled Tennis player will shift his focus to the 2017 ITTF World Cup in Liege, Belgium later this month
