4th AFN Golden League holds in Ozoro this weekend

The fourth Athletics Federation of Nigeria Golden League will take place at the Delta State Polytechnic Sports Complex in Ozoro on Friday June 22 and Saturday June 23.

Kaduna in December, Port Harcourt in January and Abuja in May played host to the first, second and third leg respectively of the AFN Golden League.

Following the National Junior Trials which held at Ozoro last week, over 200 national athletes will participate in the same venue.

According to the invitation letter sent by the AFN to state associations, clubs and paramilitary organisations, athletes are expected to arrive on Thursday.

The male athletes’ events include: 100m, 400m, 5000m, 110m hurdles, 20km race walk, shot put, javelin, long jump, triple jump, and decathlon.

While the women’s events include the 100m, 400m, 10,000m, 100m Hurdles, 400m hurdles, 20km race walk, shot put, javelin, triple jump and high jump.

Bonus events are the men and women’s 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
