Teams Lagos Qualify for 2018 Milo Basketball Finals

International School University of Lagos (Unilag) and Wesley Girls Secondary School, Yaba both of  Lagos, have emerged champions at the just concluded Western Conference of the 2018 Milo Basketball Championship.

International School Unilag Lagos State won in the male category after defeating VictorRoti Private Secondary School, Olokuta, Idi-aba, Ogun state finishing 77– 41. While in the female category, Wesley Girls Secondary School, Lagos overcame their Oyo counterpart, Yejide Girls Grammar School, Ibadan, with a 36–35 finish.

In the third place match, Kings international college, Oyo state beat Fountain International High School of Ekiti 44-18 points in the male category while Osogbo Government High School of Osun defeated African Church Grammar School of Ogun 27-23 points in the female match.

The Most Valuable Player in the male and female categories went to Oluwapo Adeoye and Anuoluwapo Bello respectively. The fair play teams went the way of Greater Tomorrow International College, Akoko, Ondo state in the male category while Osogbo Government High School Osun got for the female category.

The final games at the Lekan Salami Stadium closed the conference stage, which saw the Lagos State Teams set to represent the Western Conference in the male and female categories respectively.

Both teams will now link up with other conferences’ champions at the National finals which will kick-off in Lagos come May.

The Branch manager North Central Nestle Milo, Boladale Odunlami emphasised that the brand has played a crucial role in Grassroot sports development in Nigeria. He encouraged the participating students to strive for their personal best in all other endeavours of life.
