V/ball League: Eight teams qualify from federal zone

A total number of Eight teams have qualified for the Sahara and Conference League from the just concluded Federal Zone of the 2017/2018 Nigeria Volleyball League in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The coordinator of the Federal Zone, Abioye Adeshina told www.aclsports.com that four male and four female teams qualified from the military and para military zone.

Customs Male Team

Adeshina listed Nigeria Customs Service (NCS); Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Nigeria Police Force (NPF) as the male teams. Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and Nigeria Immigration Service (NCS) as the female teams.

Adeshina who is representing the military and para military on the board of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation said the eight teams will be joined by other teams that qualified from the six geopolitical zones to form the Sahara and Conference League.

The Nigeria Custom Service (NCS) emerged champions of the event in both the male and female categories. Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) are the runners up while the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Police came third and fourth respectively in the male category.

In the female category, NSCDC, came second behind the Customs with the Nigeria Police and Nigeria Immigration in third and fourth positions respectively.
