Barely a day after concluding the zonal qualifiers of the maiden edition of the Nigeria Volleyball League, the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) is set to host zone 3 of the African Volleyball Club Championship.

The championship is billed to take place between 15th – 22nd of April in Lagos; according to the Chairman Media and Publicity of the NVBF, Kehinde Lamidi.

Male and female clubs from Benin Republic, Burkina Faso, Côte d’voire, Ghana, Niger republic and Togo are expected to take part in a weeklong volleyball fiesta in Lagos.

Nigeria will be represented by Nigeria customs male and female teams as well as Lagos-based Legacy male volleyball team, Kehinde Lamidi said. He added that “some countries like Niger, Ghana & Benin Republic presented two teams while Togo, Côte d’voire & Burkina Faso presented a team each.”

Talking about the criteria used in selecting Legacy and Customs to represent Nigeria, Lamidi said “these are the teams that showed interest to participate.”

He concluded by saying that volleyball fans and Lagosians should expect “a display of volleyball artistry from the teams” as they take on their opponents in the upcoming club championship.
