Super Eagles midfielder Ogenekaro Etebo is set to make a return from injury when his club Las Palmas visit Levante in the Spanish Primera Division on Sunday.

Etebo, 22, suffered an ankle injury during his team’s 0-2 loss to Villarreal four weeks ago and was sidelined for Nigeria’s pre-World Cup friendlies in March as well as last weekend’s big game against Real Madrid.

The former Warri Wolves star returned to full training shortly after the international break but last weekend’s game was deemed too soon for the combustive midfielder to make a return.

Las Palmas manager Paco Jémez has however called up Etebo and twenty-three others ahead of Sunday’s game. Etebo’s Nigerian teammate Imoh Ezekiel is also among the convocated squad.

Las Palmas occupy the last relegation spot in La Liga, seven points behind their nearest rivals on the table Levante; making Sunday’s game very crucial for the Gran Canaria side.

“It is a very important match for us and we have to be prepared for this moment. I have many hope and hopes for this game,” Jémez said on Friday afternoon.

“With a little more performance from each player than they have shown so far, it will be good for everyone. My mind only thinks about winning, I do not think about getting the average goal,” added Paco Jémez at his press conference.

Sunday’s game kicks off at 11am at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.
