Players and officials of Nigeria’s flagbearers in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup, Akwa United on Thursday evening took team bonding to another level ahead of Sunday’s crucial encounter.
United lost 0-1 to Al-Ittihad Tripoli in Sfax, Tunisia last midweek and will host the Libyans at the Nest of Champions in Uyo in the return leg of their first round fixture on Sunday.
The Promise Keepers defeated former Confederation Cup campaigners Nasarawa United 1-0 in a league game on Monday and resumed training for the continental club fixture a day after.
www.aclsports.com however learnt that the players were given the evening session off after Thursday morning’s training to enable them visit the Cinemas to watch the much talked about movie: Black Panther.
The move was well accepted by the players who took the time to unwind from the rigours of their preparation for the visit of Al-Ittihad.
The team is expected to have their last major training session before Sunday’s clash on Friday with their opponents expected to fly in to Uyo same day.
Akwa United vs Al-Ittihad will kick-off at 4pm Nigerian time in Uyo on Sunday with Equato-Guinean Joaquin Esono-Eyang the centre referee.
