Enugu Rangers coach Gbenga Ogunbote insists his side are still in the works after seeing them earn a creditable 1-1 draw against Sunshine Stars in Akure on Sunday.

Striker Ifeanyi George gave the Flying Antelopes a shock lead before ageless defender Nojeem Raji equalised for the hosts to ensure both teams go home with a share of the spoils.

The point took Rangers to eighth on the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) log and leaves them three games without a win.

“We are still a team in the making,” said Ogunbote to www.aclsports.com

“Considering the fact surrounding what we wanted and how we started; what we wanted will tell you that it’s still a team in the making, I’m talking of our targets.

“So, by the time the team gets stabilised then I can say yes we now have a stable team,” he added.

The former Sunshine Stars and Enyimba coach is not overly happy with the point as he feels certain circumstances in the game hindered his team from getting the maximum points.

“I think getting a point on the road is not a bad one but I thought we should’ve gotten something better than that.

“We started the game very well but we had some challenges due to injuries later on but thank God we were able to pull the midfield together. It’s a valuable point in the end,” said Ogunbote

Rangers will face Ogunbote’s immediate past employers Enyimba in Enugu in their next NPFL game.
