MFM maintained their perfect start to the 2026 NBBF Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball Premier League with a 61-32 win over Dolphins on Game Day 5 on Thursday, www.aclsports.com reports.
The victory keeps MFM unbeaten after five games in the Atlantic Conference, while defending champions Dolphins suffered their third defeat of the campaign and second in succession at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Debutants Victoria Queens also continued their impressive run with a 50-42 victory over First Bank, making it three consecutive wins since their loss to MFM on Game Day 2 and handing the former champions their first defeat of the campaign. First Deep Waters also picked up their first win of the campaign, defeating IGP Queens 55-47 to end a four-game losing streak, while Bayelsa Blue Whales claimed a 57-45 victory over Royal Aces, handing them their third defeat in five games.
In the Savannah Conference, Titans and Plateau Rocks recorded their first wins on Day 3 at the Basketball Arena Rayfield, Jos. Titans defeated Air Warriors 61-55, ending their opponents’ perfect start after two wins, while Plateau Rocks beat Nasarawa Amazons 78-68.
Plateau Rocks’ victory ended their two-game losing run, while Nasarawa Amazons suffered their third consecutive defeat.
Meanwhile, the game between unbeaten Aso Sky Queens and Nigeria Customs was suspended at 5-3 and will resume on Sunday.
Organisers revised the Savannah Conference schedule from four to three games per day after Ham Warriors and Kada Angels failed to make the trip to Jos.
Day 4 in the Savannah Conference on Friday will see Air Warriors face Aso Sky Queens at 12:00pm, Titans take on Nasarawa Amazons at 2:00pm, and Plateau Rocks battle Nigeria Customs at 4:00pm.
In the Atlantic Conference, Game Day 6 will see Bayelsa Blue Whales face First Deep Waters at 10:00am, Royal Aces take on Victoria Queens at 12:00pm, Dolphins meet First Bank at 2:00pm, while unbeaten MFM face IGP Queens at 4:00pm.
