FA Cup winners, Chelsea FC have announced the signing of former England goalkeeper, Robert Green. Green arrives at Stamford Bridge with huge Premier League experience having represented Norwich City, West Ham United and Queens Park Rangers.
Also, the former England international had 12 caps between 2005 and 2012 while also playing at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Green who signed a one-year deal became a free agent after leaving Huddersfield Town and will now provide back-up for Willy Caballero and Thibaut Courtois in goal for Chelsea.
“It has been a whirlwind 24 hours. You are thinking about your career and where you want to go and then you get a phone call like this, and it is a short conversation,” the 38 year-old said after signing for the Blues.
“It has been a pretty dramatic time for me and I can’t wait to get started. I am absolutely delighted and it is a thrill and an honour to be here.”
