World Police Games: Yeiyah wins Gold as Onyemelusi settles for silver

Nigerian duo Yellow Yeiyah and Abraham Onyemelusi won gold and silver medal respectively at the ongoing World Police Games.

Yeiyah won a gold medal in the 50 metres fly while former Greco-Roman National Champion, Abraham Onyemelusi lost narrowly to Ilya Yasfran of Israel in the 80kg category.

Yeiyah, who was recently elected as the Athlete’s representative on the Board of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation is a National record holder of the 50m as well as 100m Fly.

He joined the Nigeria Police in 2009 and this is his first event at the World Police Games.

Yeiyah has three more events.

Meanwhile, Arm Wrestling Champion, Ralph Ubah (-100kg) will today begin his campaign in the Judo event.
