Head coach of Dakkada, Danlami Umar has said that his side will fight till the very end after another poor outing on Wednesday, www.aclsports.com reports.

For the second successive Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) home game, the Chosens dropped points at home by playing a 1-1 draw with fellow relegation battlers Bayelsa United in  Uyo.

Striker Robert Mizo handed the visitors an early lead before Mmekutmfon Udosen equalised for Umar’s side all in the opening half-hour. The result left Dakkada bottom of Group B with just eight points and seven games to go.

Speaking after the game, the former Delta Force gaffer wasn’t too pleased with the result.

“The match has been fought and at the of the day we had to share the points. I am a little bit disappointed that the same problem kept reoccurring time after time,” Danlami Umar started.

“The immaturity in my team because the young lads that have to play are not really up to the task. They did their best, we pressed and we had the chance to take the match but we couldn’t. I can’t comprehend that and the result isn’t too good for me.

The Kaduna-born tactician also said that the exit of some of the players during the midseason break has affected his side’s performance.

“Well, I can’t take away that. We lost players even this midseason which is telling on the team, some first team players left, some are absent and some are on National team duty. Definitely, we lost some really quality players and it is affecting the team.

“There’s nothing that can’t happen in football. With the way things are going now, I think we need more than just what we are playing now to take us through. This is six points we have lost at home and it is terrible.

On a final note, he was adamant that they won’t lose hope and will keep fighting until the very end.

“We won’t relent, we will keep on working with what we have. We have rookies and we are trying to see if they can really come up to the task but things are really difficult. We won’t say there’s no hope, we will fight until when it’s over.

Up next for the Akwa Ibom State side is a trip to Bauchi to face Wikki Tourists in a Match Day 12 encounter this Sunday.
