The nine-time African champions, Nigeria Super Falcons, have landed in Casablanca, Morocco, the 2024 WAFCON, as they begin their quest for a record-extending 10th title, www.aclsports.com reports.

The team arrived from Lisbon, Portugal, where they concluded their pre-tournament training camp. The 22-player delegation is accompanied by team officials, while China-based forward Folashade Ijamilusi and USA-based star striker Asisat Oshoala are already in Casablanca to join the squad.

The Super Falcons wrapped up their training camp, holding Portugal to a goalless draw in a tough friendly on Monday evening in Lisbon, highlighted by a standout performance from goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.

Nigeria will open their WAFCON campaign on Sunday, 6th July, against Tunisia at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca. The Super Falcons will then face Botswana and Algeria in their remaining group phase fixtures.

Since the competition began in 1998, the Super Falcons have never failed to reach the semi-finals, winning a record nine titles and finishing in the top four even in 2008, 2012, and 2022..

Embarking on Mission X, the Super Falcons are focused on reclaiming their continental crown and reaffirming their status as Africa’s undisputed queens of football.
