Ahead of the Women World Cup Volleyball Qualifiers in Abidjan, Cote d’ivore, twenty five invited players have commenced camping in Abuja.
Welcoming the athletes and coaches to camp, the President, Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod charged the players to ensure Nigeria qualifies for the world Cup.
He said the commitment of the present board to take the game to another level is a task that must be realised adding that the open trials held in Kaduna has put an end to a situation where players are invited to the national camp by proxy.
The players will be under the tutelage of a former National captain, coach Usman Abdalah and Gloria Ret.
The federation scribe Adamu Maikano also stated that the technical and marketing committees of the federation have put all necessary machineries in place to ensure a successful camping & outing in Abidjan.
Meanwhile, the promotion examinations for the Nigerian volleyball referees are ongoing in Abuja.
The exercise which attracted participants from all over Nigeria aimed at grading the referees that be officiating at all the volleyball tournaments at the national,continental & international levels.
