Five Super Falcons players have been confirmed for the League Phase of the 2025/26 UEFA Women’s Champions League after Thursday’s qualifiers concluded, www.aclsports.com reports.

Rinsola Babajide and Shukurat Oladipo sealed their spots with AS Roma, who overturned a 2–1 first-leg defeat to Sporting Lisbon by winning 2–0 in the return leg, advancing 3–2 on aggregate. Roma have been placed in Pot 2 for Friday’s draw.

Midfielder Christy Ucheibe will represent Portuguese champions Benfica, while Nigeria captain Rasheedat Ajibade and midfielder Jennifer Echegini will feature for Paris Saint-Germain.

Elsewhere, Joy Omewa found the net for Fortuna Hjørring but could not prevent the Danish champions from bowing out. Despite her 58th-minute strike, they fell 2–1 to Austria’s St. Pölten and 5–2 on aggregate.

The new League Phase involves 18 teams, each playing six matches, three home and three away. The top four advance straight to the quarterfinals, teams finishing 5th–12th enter the play-offs, while the bottom six are eliminated.

League Phase Seedings

Pot 1: Arsenal, Barcelona, Lyon, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg

Pot 2: PSG, Real Madrid, Juventus, Benfica, Roma, St. Pölten

Pot 3: Twente, Vålerenga, Paris FC, Manchester United, Atlético de Madrid, OH Leuven

Super Falcons legend Asisat Oshoala remains the only Nigerian to have lifted the UWCL trophy, a feat she achieved during her glittering spell at Barcelona.

The new generation of Falcons will now aim to follow in her footsteps as they begin their League Phase campaigns.
