Super Falcons midfielder Jennifer Echegini scored her first Champions League goal of the season, while Rinsola Babajide provided an assist as AS Roma secured their first win of the 2025/2026 league phase on Wednesday, www.aclsports.com reports.

Echegini’s goal came during PSG’s 1–1 draw against Benfica in Portugal. She opened the scoring in the 5th minute before Carole Costa converted a penalty won by Lucia Alves in the 32nd minute. Christy Ucheibe remained an unused substitute for Benfica, while Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade continues to be sidelined with injury. Both PSG and Benfica, already eliminated, finished the league phase without a win, earning just two points each from six matches, with PSG in 17th and Benfica in 16th place.

Meanwhile  in Italy, Babajide provided the assist for Alayah Pilgrim’s opening goal as AS Roma went into the break 2–0 ahead against St. Pölten. Evelyne Viens completed her hat-trick in the second half, helping Roma secure a 6–1 victory and climb to 14th place in the standings. Shukurat Oladipo also started for Roma, contributing to a morale-boosting conclusion to a difficult UWCL campaign.

With the league phase complete, FC Barcelona Femení, Olympique Lyonnais, Chelsea and Bayern München finished in the top four, progressing directly to the quarter-finals. Atlético de Madrid and debutants OH Leuven secured the final knockout play-off spots, with the draw for the play-offs set to take place on Thursday, 18th December 2025.
