Nigeria’s U20 women’s national team, the Falconets, have opened camp in Abuja ahead of their FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Malawi, www.aclsports.com reports.

The tie, marking the final stage of the African qualifiers, coincided with the Falconets reporting to camp on Monday, 6 April 2026, with training sessions kicking off the following day. Early sessions have focused on building match fitness, improving player cohesion, and fine-tuning tactical organisation, while additional invitees are expected to join the squad in the coming days.

During the team’s first training session, head coach Moses Aduku addressed the players, emphasising the need for concentration, unity, and a strong work ethic as they approach a crucial stage of the qualifiers. The technical crew has maintained a steady focus on preparing the team both physically and mentally for the challenge ahead.

The Falconets advanced to this stage after overcoming Senegal, while Malawi secured their place by defeating Guinea-Bissau in the previous round. The two sides will now meet in a two-legged encounter, with the first leg scheduled to take place in Nigeria on Saturday, 2 May, before the return fixture in Malawi a week later.
