Les Bleuettes started like a house on fire early on scoring as early as the sixth minute before making it a hat trick of goals all within the thirty first minute. Hence heading into the break with a three-goal advantage.

Ghana tried to muster a fight back with a goal from Owusu-Ansah in the 58th minute, but this was soon met with a sucker punch as the French team added a fourth goal to extend their lead over the African side.

The other result from Group A saw Netherlands defeat New Zealand 2-1. In Group B, Mexico edged Brazil 3-2 in an entertaining encounter while England ran out 3-1 winners against Korea DPR.

On Monday afternoon Nigeria’s Falconets will take on three time winners, Germany at exactly 12:30pm while debutants, Haiti lock horns with China in Group D. The final games of the day will see Paraguay come up against Spain while USA face Japan.
