Nigeria’s national under-20 football team, the Flying Eagles, are set to face their counterparts from Saudi Arabia in a friendly.

The friendly is part of plans designed by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to prepare the team ahead of the Africa U20 Cup of Nations scheduled for Niger Republic next month.

Biller for January 22 in Jeddah, Team Administrator, Aliyu Lawal, told thenff.com that arrangement for the game was in top gear for the team to fly out for the tie next weekend.

Flying Eagles coach, Paul Aigbogun, is expected to engage the Saudi Arabians with players he will be taking to Niger for the continental showpiece.

The game against the Saudis will be the replay of the opener in the 1989 FIFA U20 World Cup match, when Nigeria came from behind to seal a 2-1 victory.

Nigeria have been grouped alongside South Africa, Burudi and the host, Niger, in Group A of the U20 AFCON.
