Leading Oil & Gas exploration and production company, Total Nigeria PLC hosted the D’Tigers at their corporate headquarters, Victoria Island Lagos, on Monday.

“We are proud to host you after your magnificent representation in your sport. We are proud you were able to get to the final.Total does it’s best to achieve excellence and you all strived to do same. It was a demanding competition but you were able to get to the finals and that’s what matters,”Trass said.

In his response, President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Musa Kida commended the players for their achievement at the just concluded Afrobasket.

“I feel proud of them that they were able to get these sort of results putting in a lot of sacrifices like the board did.

“It is expected that all boards support a team to do well and make sure the players do well. The team came together as a team just less than a month ago and they were able to do well because they were well motivated to avoid distractions. And they also saw the need to put a lot of hardwork and do well at the tournament. Our plan is to focus on the welfare of the players by motivating them,”Kida said.

“I have believe in the team. Nigeria is blessed with talent that can produce four or five teams in the Afrobasket. We have 180 million Nigerians that are very talented in different ways. We have no reason not to do well in the sport and exploit our potentials in basketball.

Kida also lauded Total’s efforts in sponsoring sports worldwide and also in Africa, caring for the youths and giving them a sense of focus in all they do.
