Super Eagles striker, Tolu Arokodare, has netted his first goal for Wolves as they defeated Everton 2-0 in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night, www.aclsports.com reports.

Marshall Munetsi and Tolu Arokodare were the goalscorers as struggling Wolves reached the EFL Cup fourth round after a comfortable win over the Toffees at the Molineux. In just his third appearance for the club, the former Genk forward has grabbed his maiden goal in English football.

The win comes as some relief for the Premier League side, who have found themselves at the bottom of the Premier League after five games.

In the EFL Cup, they beat West Ham in the previous round, and they now gone ahead to knock-out another Premier League team with the club hierarchy trusting manager Vitor Pereira to steady the ship in the Premier League and arrest the slide.

Munetsi opened the scoring midway through the first half, pouncing after Mark Travers pushed out Jhon Arias’ well-taken volley. Earlier, Wolves keeper Sam Johnstone had tipped Michael Keane’s header over the crossbar, while James Garner came closest after the break, rattling the woodwork with a free-kick as Everton chased an equalizer.

As Everton pushed for the leveller, Nigerian striker Arokodare – a £23m summer signing from Genk – dinked the onrushing goalkeeper for his first Wolves goal three minutes from time.

Arokodare, who was also on target for Nigeria during the last international break, will hope to get things going in the Premier League with his side, as they seek survival and getting back on track.
