African champions Nigeria’s Super Falcons will face Senegal in a double-header friendly during the June FIFA Women’s International window as preparations continue for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), www.aclsports.com reports.

The ten-time African champions are scheduled to take on the Teranga Lionesses on 5 and 8 June at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State, in what will serve as another important test ahead of July’s continental showpiece.

These friendlies were arranged after Nigeria’s proposed training tour of the United Kingdom, which included a fixture against Jamaica, was cancelled due to scheduling conflicts that placed it outside FIFA’s official women’s international window, making player releases from clubs uncertain.

Having missed the previous international window, the Super Falcons will now face Senegal, a side expected to provide a competitive regional challenge and a physically demanding, tactically disciplined contest.

Coach Justine Madugu and his technical crew will use the opportunity to assess player combinations, test tactical systems and evaluate squad depth as Nigeria continues its preparations for the continental tournament and the road to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
