Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala was benched for the second game running as Barcelona Women returned to winning ways in the league following their semifinal Cup defeat to Atletico Madrid Women last week.

Oshoala who has scored thrice in three games has made only one start since joining the Barcelona giants, coming on with less than 25mins to play in their semifinal Cup loss and also making a cameo appearance in the 87th min in the 0-3 away win over Real Betis Women on Sunday evening.

With three minutes of regulation time left to play, the former African Women’s player of the year was introduced for Mariona who scored Barca’s third goal to give the Spanish giants a comprehensive win in Seville.

In England, Ini Umotong’s Brighton and Hove came from behind to beat Birminghan City with goals from Kayleigh Green and Ellie to claim their third win of the season.

Although the Super Falcons striker didn’t score or record an assist in the game, she came close to giving her side the lead twice in quick succession but was unlucky with her first strike hitting the crossbar before her second effort which found the back of the net was ruled out for offside.

33 - It's end to end now. Umotong finds herself in space and crashes her strike off the crossbar before White is in the box once against testing the Brighton defence.

37 - Umotong has the ball in the back of the net for Brighton, but luckily for Tejedor's side the linesman has her flag up for offside. A let off there.

With the Cyprus Women’s Cup expected to commence this week, Ini and Oshoala have been selected alongside 22 other Falcons set to compete at the invitational tournament as part of the African Champions’ preparation for the World Cup in June later in the year.
