Super Falcons defender Osinachi Ohale has said she hopes to help her new side, AS Roma qualify for the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL).

The Nigerian international joins the Italian outfit after 10 months at the Spanish capital and previous stints in the USA and Sweden.

“I decided to choose Roma because of so many things,” she said to the club’s official website. “So many amazing things about the club, about this city and this country that interested me.

“So I felt like it would be a great thing for me, to explore and to experience new things and a new challenge.”

“And I also want to [qualify to] play in the Champions League, because I have never played in the Champions League before,” she adds.

Ohale will help bolster Betty Bavagnoli’s defence with her ability to read the game and win both aerial and ground duels.

At international level, the 28 year-old has won four African Women’s Cup of Nations titles and featured at three Fifa Women’s World Cups with the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
