Super Eagles of Nigeria’s highly rated forward Victor Osimhen has completed his switch to Italian side Napoli from French Ligue Un side LOSC Lille, reports www.aclsports.com

Osimhen, 21, has been at the centre of a long-drawn transfer saga for the better part of the last one month but his new employers have now officially announced the deal.

The former Wolfsburg striker signed a five-year deal until June 2025.

It is being widely reported that Serie A side Napoli paid €50m for the services of Osimhen excluding add-ons, a fee that makes the 2015 U17 FIFA World Cup winner Nigeria’s most expensive player ever.

Osimhen joined Lille last summer from Belgian side Charleroi but after a productive first season in France during which he scored 18 goals in all competitions – despite the league ending after 28 games -, a big money move came calling.

In Naples, Osimhen has been assigned the respected Number 9 shirt, the same number he now wears while representing Nigeria’s senior national team.

For the Eagles, Osimhen has four goals from his eight appearances and remains one of the few Nigerian footballers to have scored at every level of the national team (U17, U20, U23 and senior team).

He is expected to join the rest of his teammates immediately but will only be eligible to feature for the Sky Blues after the end of their campaign in the UEFA Champions League next month.
