Nigeria Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has listed seven Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) stars in his squad for this month-end’s Unity Cup Tournament in London, www.aclsports.com reports.
For the Unity Cup that will have a semi-final and Final at the Charlton Athletic Stadium (The Valley) between 26th and 30th May, Chelle has selected Shooting Stars’ mercurial midfielder Ayobami Junior, while Ikorodu City have the trio of Michael Atata, Tosin Oyedokun, and Aderemi Adeoye in the list. Other home-based lads in the squad include Elias Ochobi (Rivers United) and Rangers duo of Chibueze Oputa and Obinna Igboke.
Meanwhile, other regulars, including team captain Wilfred Ndidi, goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, defenders Bruno Onyemaeachi and Igoh Ogbu, forwards Moses Simon, Akor Adams, and Terem Moffi, have been called up. There are also first-time call-ups for the likes of Arthur Okonkwo, Femi Azeez, and Zadok Abu Yohanna.
The Super Eagles, who are the defending champions of the competition, will file out against the Warriors of Zimbabwe at The Valley on Tuesday, 26th May, with victory to propel them to the Final against the winner of the clash between Jamaica and India, which holds at the same venue on Wednesday, 27th May.
