Head Coach Eric Chelle has named a strong Super Eagles squad that will take on Poland and Portugal in high-profile friendly matches scheduled for Europe in June, www.aclsports.com reports.
Star striker Victor Osimhen, who missed March’s international window, returns to the squad, as does Calvin Bassey, who was also ruled out due to injury. Midfielder Alex Iwobi, goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, defenders Zaidu Sanusi and Semi Ajayi, midfielders Frank Onyeka and Alhassan Yusuf, and forwards Ademola Lookman and Paul Onuachu are all in the group.
Defender Ola Aina, who missed the last AFCON in Morocco due to injury, remains out of the squad, while clubless Stanley Nwabali has not been called up as well. New goalkeeper, Arthur Okonkwo, who is also in the Unity Cup squad, will hope to get more minutes in these June games.
Nigeria, who have known their opponents in the 2027 AFCON Qualifiers, will tackle hosts Poland at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw on Wednesday, 3rd June ((kick-off, 8.45pm Poland time), before flying to Portugal to face World Cup-bound Portugal at the Estadio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria on Wednesday, 10th June (kickoff, 8.45pm Portugal time).
