Winger Seun Akanji has completed a transfer move from Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Sporting Lagos to Lillestrøm (LSK) of Norway, www.aclsports.com reports.
The Nigerian was on trial at LSK a year and a half ago and made such a good impression that the club secured an option to sign him when he turned 18.
Now, he is finally in place, looking forward to his time at LSK, and has signed a contract with the club until the summer of 2030.
“I’m incredibly happy to be here. Signing for a fantastic club like this means a lot to me. This is a big dream come true, and I’m ready to give everything I have for the club,” said Akanji after the club confirmed his move.
”It was exciting to be here for a trial game last time. Now I am incredibly happy, and not least proud, to sign a contract with LSK. I have had a great start and have been very well received by both my teammates and the coaches,” added the winger who completed his first training sessions with the team during the week.
”Seun impressed us a lot when he was on trial as a 16-year-old in January 2025. Now he is finally formally ready for LSK, and we are really looking forward to further developing him here at the club. He is an exciting and explosive player in whom we see great potential,” said LSK’s Sporting director Espen Olsen.
The exciting winger, who helped Sporting Lagos clinch the NNL title in the 2025/26 season, was crucial in the Lagos side’s return to the NPFL. Apart from that, he starred in the TCC League for the academy side in the 2024/25 season.
