According to FECAFOOT (Cameroon FA), former international Rigobert Song is one of those being considered for the vacant position.

The former captain of the Lions is presently coach of the country’s U23 team, who will face Tunisia next month in the 2019 Africa U23 Cup of Nations qualification

After years of working with expatriate coaches, Cameroonian football officials are looking at the possibilities of hiring a local hand to head the Indomitable Lions, who are currently without a coach following the dismissal of Clarence Seedorf and his assistant Patrick Kluivert after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Song led Cameroon local senior team to the 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco, crashing out in the group stage with two loses and a draw.

He already had two spells on the bench of Cameroon as a stop-gap coach, but his second ended with health issues.

The team’s former coach Jean-Paul Akono also figures on the shortlist according to FECAFOOT.
