The midfield maestro who won three Premier League titles, four FA cups, two League cups, the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Champions League during his 13 years at Chelsea is expected to take charge of The Rams with immediate effect.

Announcing his appointment, Derby County Executive Chairman Mel Morris, CBE, said: “I’m delighted to have someone of Frank’s calibre as our new manager.

“Few players have achieved what Frank has in his career to date. He’s a winner, a leader who knows what it takes to succeed and who has the character and charisma to be a fantastic manager for us.”

Here are some reactions by football lovers as Lampard begins his managerial journey.

The way the media is pushing Lampard's appointment as manager of Derby County with lovely designed banners, I hope they do same when he parts company with them

My legend can never be a Ram....He is G.O.A.T https://t.co/XGJJectZQc

Good to see serious people like Gerrard & Lampard take on managerial jobs. United legends who claim to know all about management won't follow that path. They are too busy name dropping Sir Alex & illegitimizing United managers till one of them gets the job & destroy the club.

Lampard going to manage Derby county. Good stuff. I wish him success in that league because Derby county may not have the money to throw around next season. So we get to see Frank's managerial brilliance.
FL was my favorite Chelsea player so now I'm a Derby county fan.

Why are Chelsea not appointing him as Manager? I can't believe they are letting this big chance pass them by https://t.co/QxB82LgTvr

Will be good to see Lampard as a manager.Derby also looks a good fit. Looks like he might be able to hack it. Doesn't sound like he knows it all because he won some titles as a player like Gary Neville does. I will be rooting for him to succeed.

Nice one for Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard. From the studio to the dugout. Remain Paul Scholes. 😁
