Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has expressed his excitement over signing a new deal at English Premier League club Nottingham Forest, www.aclsports.com reports.
Aina, whose contract expired in the summer, signed a new three year deal with the Reds until 2028, as confirmed by the club on Monday.
The 28-year-old full-back played a pivotal role in the team’s 24/25 campaign, starting in 35 of 38 Premier League games. He was excellent at right-back as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side finished in an European place at the end of the campaign.
On extending his contract, Aina said: “I’m over the moon, I can’t wait to continue this journey with the Club. It’s always felt like a home ever since I joined and I’m happy to be here. Now my focus is on preparing for the new season well and getting back to hard work.”
Owner, Evangelos Marinakis said: “Ola has skill, determination and character in abundance. He epitomises the culture and hard work we expect from everyone associated with Forest. He has had a big influence since his arrival here and we look forward to continuing that journey together to help us achieve incredible things.”
Aina joined Forest in the summer of 2023 from Serie A side Torino, going on to make 59 appearances for the Reds in all competitions.
Having already made 100 appearances in Italy’s top flight, Ola brings a wealth of top-level experience and is just nine games away from reaching 100 in the Premier League as well.
