Plateau record back to back victory in volleyball

Plateau state women’s team recorded two straight wins at the ongoing North Central elimination of the 2020 National Sports Festival in Ilorin.

Plateau state defeated Nasarawa state by three straight sets (25-7, 25-20, 25-17) in their first game while Niger state proved stubborn but eventually lost to Plateau by 3-2 (25-10, 25-14, 16-25, 19-25, 15-12) at the indoor sports hall of Kwara state stadium.

In other results, host Kwara defeated Nasarawa by 3-1 major sets (25-18, 25-14, 23-25, 25-17) while Plateau state lost to an experienced Niger state by 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-15) in the men’s volleyball event.

In the men’s handball event, FCT punished Kogi state by beating them mercilessly by 45-27. The combination of Abubakar Atabo, Abdullahi Atabo and Danlami Abdullahi were too strong for the Kogi state team.

In other Niger state recorded a double win over Nasarawa 33-20 goals and against Plateau state by 28-24 goals while Kogi state beat Kwara state by 30-20 goals.

Kwara state v Nasarawa  state 3-1 (25-18, 25-14, 23-25, 25-17) men

Plateau state v Niger state 3-2 (25-10, 25-14, 16-25, 19-25, 15-12) women

Niger state v Plateau state 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-15) men

Handball: (men)

Niger state 33-20 Nasarawa state

Kogi state 30-20 Kwara state

FCT 45-27 Kogi state

Niger state 28-24 Plateau state

Football:

Kwara state 0-0 Nasarawa state

Basketball:

Kwara state 73-63 Niger state

Nasarawa state 76-81 Plateau state
