Tokyo Olympics Silver Medallist, Blessing Oborodudu lost to Olympic Bronze medallist, Meerim Zhumanazarova (Kyrgyzstan) by 1 to 3 points in the semifinals of the women’s 68kg wrestling event at the ongoing 2024 Paris 2024 Olympics, www.aclsports.com reports.

Oborodudu failed to become the first Nigerian wrestler to qualify for two consecutive Olympic Games finals.

The World Bronze medallist will wait for winners of the repechage matches to win a medal at this year’s Games.

In the quarterfinal encounter, the 2x Commonwealth Games Champion came from a deficit of two points to win World number three, Koumba Larroque by 6 to 2 points despite the massive support in favour of the home girl.
