Five-time WAFCON winner and former Super Falcons defender Osinachi Ohale has joined Italian Serie A Femminile side Como following her departure from Club Pachuca Femenil, www.aclsports.com reports.
Como announced the signing of the 34-year-old defender on Thursday, with Ohale joining the club as a free agent after spending three seasons with Pachuca. She made 105 appearances and scored six goals for the Mexican club before leaving in September 2026.
The move sees Ohale return to Italy, where she previously represented AS Roma in 2020. The defender began her career in Nigeria in 2008 and has since gone on to play in the United States, Sweden, Spain and Mexico.
Ohale announced her retirement from international football on September 25, bringing an end to a 16-year career with the Super Falcons. She made her senior debut for Nigeria in 2010 and went on to earn 86 caps, featuring at four FIFA Women’s World Cups and seven WAFCON tournaments.
Como 1907 Women’s Technical Director Nils Nielsen said Ohale’s experience will be valuable to the team:
“Osinachi is a very experienced and good defender. Representing Nigeria for more than 15 years, many as captain, her international experience is extremely valuable for us. Her ability to place herself in the right spot defensively, and her 1 on 1 skills in marking as well as aerial strengths will help the team for sure.”
Speaking about her move, Ohale said:
“I’m happy to return to Italy and embark on this new experience here in Como; I have a very positive feeling about it. I’m ready to do whatever the coach asks of me to help the team.”
