Six-time African Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala, scored twice and provided an assist in Al Hilal’s 5–0 victory over Eastern Flames in the Saudi Women’s Premier League on Thursday, www.aclsports.com reports.
Al Hilal came out with greater intensity after a goalless first half, with Asisat Oshoala breaking the deadlock just two minutes into the second half. The goal came after substitute Al Bandari Mobarak set her up in the 47th minute, and the Nigerian forward finished calmly from close range.
The hosts doubled their advantage through Kheira Hamraoui, before Mobarak added a third in the 60th minute after Eastern Flames goalkeeper Keikei had earlier denied Oshoala’s headed effort.
Oshoala then turned provider, setting up Hamraoui for her second goal of the match, before later rounding off her own brace in the 80th minute. She reacted quickest to a loose clearance from the defence to complete a dominant attacking display and seal the 5–0 victory.
She finished her debut league campaign with 12 goals and four assists, registering a total of 24 goal contributions (19 goals and five assists) across all competitions.
With the league season concluded, Al Hilal will now turn their attention to the SAFF Women’s Cup semi-finals, where they face Al Qadsiah on 30 April, with a chance to secure silverware and cap their campaign.
