Optima Energy, a Nigerian Oil and Gas company have been announced as sponsors of the prestigious Ogunjobi Gold Cup pre-season football tournament. Making this known on Wednesday was the General Coordinator of the tournament, Tunde Shamsudeen.

The pre-season tournament ranks as one of the best organised competitions which serves as a preparatory ground for Nigerian clubs ahead of a new season, especially in the top flight.

“It’s another feather to our cap as we are very proud to announce Optima Energy Resources as our official sponsors.

“The sponsorship is a reward for our hard work over the years as the Ogunjobi Gold Cup has become a brand to the affiliate within Nigeria’s domestic football,” said Shamsudeen.

The 9th edition of the Ogunjobi Gold Cup Pre-Season Tournament, named after former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) General Secretary, Late Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi will be co-hosted by the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne and FC Ebedei Stadium, Sagamu from Thursday October 21 to Saturday October 30, 2021.

Second division side ABS FC of Ilorin are the defending champions of the competition after they stung Gombe United in a 5-goal thriller at the last edition in Ilorin.
