Super Falcons forward Chioma Okafor has been named a Third Team NCAA All-American for the third time, becoming just the sixth player in University of Connecticut (UConn) Huskies history to reach the milestone, www.aclsports.com reports.
Okafor, recognized as one of the nation’s top collegiate players, earned the accolade as she wraps up her senior season, leading the Huskies with eight goals and one assist while also securing First Team All-BIG EAST and United Coaches First Team All-East Region honors.
Over her entire UConn career from 2022 to 2025, Okafor played in 57 games, scoring 30 goals and adding five assists, cementing her status as one of the program’s most prolific forwards.
A 2024 WAFCON winner with Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Okafor’s latest recognition caps off a remarkable year on multiple fronts. Her attacking presence kept opposing defenses on high alert, consistently influencing games and playing a pivotal role in shaping the Huskies’ offensive identity.
The three All-American selections of Okafor have placed her among UConn’s elite players, joining a select group of program legends who have earned multiple national honors.
With her college career complete, Okafor has drawn attention from scouts worldwide. As the January transfer window nears, fans are eager to see whether she will stay in the U.S. with the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) or take her talents to top clubs across Europe.
