At Bwari Township Stadium in Abuja, Bayelsa Queens set the tempo from the start. Kesiena Ojiyovwi opened the scoring in the 12th minute, before Kindness Ifeanyi doubled the lead in the 36th. “We’re happy we got the win, but it’s about consistency. We will not relent; we must still push for the ultimate glory,” said Bayelsa Queens head coach Whyte Ogbonda.
Naija Ratels coach Sabo Okala admitted the result was disappointing but remained positive:
“The result was not what we wanted, but my girls will not let this weigh them down. Bayelsa Queens are a strong side, and they took their chances. But my players kept their heads up and kept fighting, and that’s the spirit we carry forward.”
