Nasarawa State Government through its Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Lucky Yargwa, has called on the organising committee to put searchlights in and around event centres to ensure that the aims and objectives of the Sports Festival are not eroded by selfish stakeholders whose motives are to favour some states at the expense of others.

Yargwa who made the call while speaking with newsmen at the press centre of the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba the state capital insisted that rules and regulations must be adhered to so that talents are discovered and nurtured to represent the country at international sports meets.

Boasting as a team with the largest number of contingent, he disclosed that the state is taking part in 27 sporting events where they have already recorded three medals which is one Silver from Para-Table Tennis and two coming from Taekwondo events as according to him, some of their athletes are already in the medal stage in some sports.
