Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) giants Enyimba FC and host team Wikki Tourists of Bauchi enjoyed good wins in 2020/2021 Match Day 6 double header games decided at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium on Monday.

Enyimba faced rock-bottom Adamawa United in the first installment of the televised Double-Header games on Monday afternoon and ran out 2-1 winners in the highly entertaining game.

Winger Anayo Iwuala scored the game’s curtain raiser in the 8th minute before left back Imoh Obot doubled Enyimba’s advantage with his first goal for the team in the 32nd minute when he finished off Dayo Ojo’s low cross after a devastating Enyimba attack.

Adamawa United pulled one back in the second half courtesy of Idris Abubakar’s 61st minute penalty but Iwuala missed two further chances in the second half that could have made for a wider score margin for Fatai Osho coached Enyimba.

The win lifted Enyimba to 3rd position on the league table with twelve points from six matches.

In the day’s late game, Wikki Tourists recorded a routine 2-0 win over Jigawa Golden Stars with a goal in each half.

Former youth international Nazifi Yahaya gave Wikki the lead in the 39th minute with a superb strike while winger Promise Damala sealed the points for Usman Abd’Allah’s side.

The win made it seven points out of the last nine for Wikki who had failed to win any of their first three games. They thus climbed out of the relegation zone with Heartland dropping down to the red zone.
