Three of the eight games which took centre stage on Match Day 3 of the NPFL ended in draws while Heartland FC secured the result of the match day with an impressive away win against Nasarawa United in Lafia.

Heartland youngster Samuel Nwoshiri scored as early as the fifteenth minute and his team hung on to the 1-0 victory to record successive league victories after their 3-0 triumph over Plateau United last midweek.

Akwa United who lost on opening day in Uyo travelled to Kano and secure a precious point against Kano Pillars in a 1-1 draw at the Sani Abacha Stadium. Ndifreke Effiong gave the visitors the lead in Kano before Chris Madaki equalised for Sai Masu Gida before half time.

Kwara United twice came from behind to record a 3-2 win over former champions Enyimba. Striker Segun Alebiosu scored twice in the win for the Harmony Warriors with Usman Mohammed’s 73rd minute goal proving decisive for the hosts’ first win of the campaign.

Kada City edged the battle of newly promoted sides against Gombe United 2-1 with Ibrahim Enesi scoring on his Gombe debut. In Shagamu, Remo Stars held Insurance to a 1-1 draw. Victor Mbaoma and veteran Charles Omokaro scored for both sides respectively.
