Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) FC on Sunday ended a run of seven games without a win in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2020/2021 season while Lobi Stars also recorded their first win after five winless attempts.

Lagos based MFM FC defeated basement side 2-0 at the Agege Stadium to record their first win since their win over Sunshine Stars on Match Day 3. Two quick fire goals by Najeem Adeyinka (22′) and Oladapo Alabi (24′) handed the struggling a side the crucial points.

There were six more Match Day 11 games decided on Sunday and Lobi Stars also defeated Kano Pillars 1-0 courtesy of a first half strike by Austin Ogunye. Pillars defender Victor Dennis was sent off in stoppage time.

Abia Warriors recorded the most emphatic win of the weekend after a come-from-behind 4-1 win over Warri Wolves at the Okigwe Stadium. Sunday Williams gave Wolves a 3rd minute lead but Warriors rebounded in style with stirker Godwin Obaje scoring twice, sandwiching goals by Chukwuemeka Obioma and Paul Samson.

FC Ifeanyiubah also hammered Katsina United 3-0 in Nnewi courtesy of a brace by Nonso Nzediegwu and a well taken free kick by Emmanuel Uchegbu.

There were also 1-0 wins for Rangers International and Jigawa Golden Stars over Kwara United and Nasarawa United respectively. Chiamaka Madu scored the only goal for Rangers to end Kwara’s seven-game unbeaten run while Faisal Ahmed scored the only goal for Jigawa in Kaduna.

The only draw on Sunday came at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure where Sunshine Stars held Heartland to a 1-1 draw. Paschal Eze headed Heartland in front in the first half but league’s topscorer Sadeeq Yusuf levelled matters from the penalty spot in the second half.

Match Day 12 games will hold this midweek across centres.
