Shooting Stars Forward, Samuel Ayanrinde has told www.aclsports.com that he is not ready to rest on his laurels following his brace against Plateau United on Wednesday.

Samuel was at his best to help the Ibadan side beat Plateau United 3-2 in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 11 game played in Ibadan.

The forward, who also scored a brace against Nasarawa United on match day six, scored the equalizer after some breathtaking build-up by the home side before poking home early in the second half to hand his side the lead. Ghali Falke was the other scorer for the Oluyole Warriors, while Adam Yakubu scored the game’s opener and John Rotshaka scored a late consolation for the visitors.

The result meant that Shooting Stars moved a spot to seventh in Group A with 13 points from 11 games. Samuel says he wants to continue working hard despite the latest feat.

“I feel happy and excited to work with the team and achieve the brace,” Samuel Ayanrinde said to www.aclsports.com.

“I am trying to push hard in order to get more goals again as the season progresses.

Samuel missed the chance to notch the first hat trick of the season as his shot came off the woodwork and he was not too happy about that.

“I felt disappointed because I was expecting it to be the third goal to complete the hat trick but glory to God I got the brace and I’m still on top of my game,” he said.

Shooting Stars have seven more games until the end of the season and are currently in the bottom half of the abridged season table, but Samuel wants the Oluyole Warriors to put in more effort in order to make their fans happy and also move up the ladder.

“As a team, we are preparing so hard so that we can go there [Kwara United] to make our fans happy and we want to move up because we are a down bit. We need to put more effort so that we can get something from the game,” he concluded.

Samuel is expected to be part of the travelling squad to Akure when Shooting Stars face Kwara United in a Match Day 12 NPFL fixture on Sunday.
