Playmaker Nelson Okwa Esor says his Rivers United side are well prepared for their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) date with Enyimba in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

Esor, a creative midfielder who adds goals to his team is United’s joint top scorer this season with five goals and he told www.aclsports.com on Friday that the Pride of Rivers have spent the past two weeks preparing for Sunday’s game.

The clash billed for the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt is a rescheduled Match Day 11 encounter and the third time both sides will be meeting in all competitions, this season.

“We are very very prepared for the game. We’ve been preparing for like two weeks now plus in special preparation for this match,” began the former Go Round captain to www.aclsports.com

“It was supposed to hold last Wednesday but shifted till Sunday. Definitely we’re going to win,” he added.

While Enyimba continued their continental campaign, other nineteen teams in Nigeria’s top flight have gone on mid-season break since April 4.

Rivers United, coached by Stanley Eguma have also made several acquisitions including Esor’s former Go Round teammate Morice Chukwu who joined from Akwa United. Esor believes the new players will make the team better.

He continued: “We have new players in the team. The likes of Morice Chukwu from Akwa, two or three attackers more including Sunday Adetunji. I think the team is better for this second round.”

A win for United against their fierce rivals on Sunday will take them to 4th position on the log and could serve as a right motivation ahead of the second stanza of the league billed to start on May 9.

“I’m very sure we will make Rivers people proud in the second stanza and I’m confident in the team we have.

“We’ve done very much in terms of preparation and I hope that it will be replicated when the second stanza starts and not even then, starting from the game against Enyimba on Sunday.

“We want to start from there and then we take it from there, things will definitely change in this second round,” Esor concluded.
