Head coach of reigning Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Rangers International, Fidelis Ilechukwu believes that table toppers Remo Stars FC are all but certain to win their first league title this term, www.aclsports.com reports.

Ilechukwu spoke on Wednesday after seeing his Flying Antelopes go down 0-1 in Umuahia to Abia Warriors who consequently leapfrogged his side into fourth position on the log.

“Remo Stars have an advantage to win the league, that is the truth, and every other slot is opened for other teams,” began the former MFM coach to aclsports.com

“We have a lot of challenges in our team, having an injury crisis and also many young players but that does not mean that Rangers is out of it but we keep on fighting, we keep on working hard and we keep on pushing.

“Maybe by Week 34, 35, 36, everything is going to be open to us but to me I think Remo Stars have 80% advantage to win the league.”

Attacker Antoine Ijoma Dasouza netted the game’s only goal late in the first half to give Imama Amapakabo a win against his former side in front of a sizeable crowd at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

“It was a good game. We gave our best but our best was not enough. It was a game that we have one or two things to take home and hope to achieve what we want to at the end of the season,” said Ilechukwu.

Both Abia Warriors and Rangers International will have more injuries to worry about after Warriors captain Augustine Njoku and Rangers’ impressive midfielder Saviour Isaac were stretchered off in the first and second half respectively.

All Match Day 26 games have been postponed to next mid-week in order to allow for the conclusion of the State FA Cup tournaments across the country this weekend.
