Striker Mujeeb Odufeso could not hide his emotions after coming off the bench to score his first league goal in Enyimba colours in their 2-2 draw with Ikorodu City on Sunday, www.aclsports.com reports.

In the match day 29 clash decided at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Enyimba were seconds away from another win on the road after goals from Mujeeb Odufeso and Joseph Atule turned the game on its head following Tosin Oyedokun’s opener. However, substitute Taiwo Cole struck deep into stoppage time to deny Stanley Eguma’s men.

Speaking after the game, Odufeso, who had endured a frustrating first half of the season due to injury, was pleased with his goal for the Aba giants.

“I’m excited scoring my first league goal for Enyimba FC,” the striker told Enyimba media.

“It’s a big one for me, and I thank my teammates for helping me achieve that.”

Despite his own achievement, the striker was not happy about his side’s failure to take all three points back to Aba.

“My team would have loved to have all three points today, but unfortunately, we got just one. We worked hard, but that’s football. Right now, we shift our attention to the Federation Cup on Wednesday, and then we focus on getting back to the continent with the remaining league games,” the former Gombe United man concluded.

Enyimba will now turn their focus to the President Federation Cup on Wednesday, where they will face El Shama FC of Gombe in the round of 64 in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
