Former Shooting Stars forward Kayode Oke scored twice for the home side before Aliyu Sugau scored a penalty to half the deficit for the visitors. However, two further late goals from Suraju Lawal and Jonathan Mairiga helped secure a resounding win.

In Aba, Enyimba continued their rise with a 2-0 win over 10-man Plateau United. Ifeanyi Ihemekwele, after scoring in the midweek win over Shooting Stars, opened the scoring just before the half hour mark before Richard Ezinna secured the win with the second in the second half. It’s now successive home wins for the Aba Elephants.
