NPFL: Barau FC confirm retained list for 2026/27 Season

Barau FC have confirmed their players’ retained list for the forthcoming 2026/27 season of the Nigeria Premier Football League, www.aclsports.com reports.

The Maliya Boys, who featured in the topflight for the first time in the 2025/26 season, managed to retain their status for another season on the final day and are now prepared for the first full season under the leadership of Dominic Iorfa.

🔔 Barau FC have confirmed their retained list ahead of the 2026/27 season following discussions with the club's technical department.

The retained players are:

Emeka Nwabulu

Chisom Chiaha

Oscar Destiny

Sugau Aliyu

Bismark Duah

Usman Maidubuji

Henry Ezeonye

The club, in a statement made available to the press, confirmed that 21 players have been retained ahead of the new campaign.

Joseph Atule, goalkeeper Chisom Chiaha, who arrived from Bayelsa United back in January, former junior international Orji Kalu, and Henry Ezeonye were among the key players who have been asked to continue with the Kano-based club.

Meanwhile, Barau FC went ahead to thank all departing players for their service and commitment to the club and wished them every success in the future.

After an impressive eighth-place finish in their debut topflight campaign, Barau will set their sights on an even stronger outing when the 2026/27 NPFL season kicks off on the weekend of August 28–30.
